Nail of the week #1

I’ve decided to start a nail of the week series on my blog, that i hope you’ll enjoy and join in with too.

I love doing my nails,if you’ve read any of my other nail posts (there’s a few) you’ll know i often put aside some time for myself each week to do them.I try and change the colours frequently and keep my nails in a decent condition just so i feel that bit more together, there’s nothing worse than chipped polish.I love reading posts where pretty manicures are on show, the upkeep honestly takes no time at all.So i thought i’d start sharing with you what i’m wearing each week, hopefully each week anyway as sometimes i don’t get chance. What collection (if any) the polish is from, where you can get it and my overall rating of the quality.

This week i’m using two polishes from my Nails Inc AW16 collection.I wanted to switch my colours up this week,i’ve been using a lot of pinks and oranges lately due to it being rather summery and hot but now we’re are in September! So i went with nails inc regents row,it’s a gorgeous dusky lilac colour which i think is a perfect transition colour between seasons. On top of that i used the holographic topcoat in the name electric lane.I had to take a photo with flash on aswell to show you more of the holographic topcoat.

At first, the holographic topcoat appeared to be just a silver glitter but when the light hit it,it sparkled and glistened beautifully.Over regents row it looks almost grey which i really like.

I like the way it applied, the brush was slightly thicker than standard brushes which meant fewer strokes needed to create an even, opaque coverage. This look was created with just one coat of each polish.

Although the colours in the AW16 collection are gorgeous and the brush is of good quality the longevity of it isn’t the best. After just one day i started to see tip wear and after two days i had lots of chips.Which is a shame,i own a few nails inc polishes and not all of them chip so easily. In saying that though i’m pretty sure with a good quality topcoat the chipping would be minimised,if not completely fixed.I would of used one but i’ve run out of mine, currently awaiting a new one to arrive.

This collection is available here from the nails inc website for £21 reduced from £101!

Let me know in the comments if you have tried any nail polish or accessories that you think i’d like trying too.
