Finally my nails have regrown after a brittle few weeks off, just in time for October’s nailbox.
This month’s theme was “out of this world”,space rockets and shooting stars and all that jazz.I was going to do a space nail design for today’s post but i did something similar in my nail of the week #2 so i decided to keep it simple.
Included in this month’s box:
- OPI nail envy – nail strengthener
- Nailberry – number 69
- Rimmel 60 seconds – breakfast in bed
- OPI – super star status
- Stylist – pre-glued nail gems
This is the first nailberry nail polish i’ve used,i have the nailberry nail balm that is amazing.I really enjoyed using this midnight blue shade, the colour pay off is good – i was able to get a completely opaque finish with one coat. The formula was more watery/runny than i’m used to,which meant i had to constantly wipe dripping excess off between strokes but overall it’s a good polish.Normally my nail polish chips by day 2,even with a gel topcoat and as you can see from my photo it was still good 4 days later (despite a bit of tip wear).
Everyone’s used a rimmel polish before, they’re really affordable and great value for money.I was a bit skeptical about the colour,it’s a pastel shade, which to me screams summer not autumn. No worries though,i used it on both 3rd fingers and kept it nice and subtle.I had to use 2 coats to get an opaque finish but that was fine,it layered nice and smooth and the wide brush was perfect for precision.
Once i applied some of the OPI glitter polish on top it gave the colour a frozen theme vibe, pretty cool if it snows! It is a combination of glitterdust and flecks of glitter, which is perfect for winter designs. Both nice polishes and the OPI glitter polish will come in handy through the christmas period.
I haven’t used the nail strengthener or the gems yet but i’m sure both are good quality.OPI always is and i’ve enjoyed the foil strips by stylist before,no doubt i’ll find some use for these during the following months!
